Frequently asked questions
What is Melodi?
Melodi is a practice companion for musicians who play from sheet music. It brings your music, repertoire, practice history, goals, and intelligent practice tools together in one place.
Can I use my own sheet music?
Yes. Import your existing PDF sheet music, bring files in from cloud storage or other apps, or scan printed music with your device’s camera. Your scores stay together in your Melodi library.
How does Melodi help me organize my repertoire?
Add pieces to Want to Learn, Learning, or Mastered so you can always see what you’re working on and what you’ve accomplished. Each piece keeps its own progress and practice history.
Does Melodi track my practice automatically?
es. When you practice with a score in Melodi, your sessions can be recorded automatically—without starting a timer or filling out a practice log afterward. You can also add, edit, or remove sessions yourself.
What practice tools are included?
Melodi includes tools designed to stay out of the way while you play, including: An intelligent hands-free page turner that feels like magic, a smart metronome that detects the tempo from the sheet music, handwritten annotations, and an automatic practice logger.
How does hands-free page turning work?
Melodi can recognize facial gestures such as a wink or head movement and use them to move forward or backward through your score. You choose which gestures you want to use, so you can keep your hands on your instrument.
Does Melodi work without an internet connection?
Your imported sheet music remains available offline, and core reading and practice features are designed to work without requiring a network connection. That means your music is still there when Wi-Fi isn’t!
Is Melodi just for classical musicians?
No. Melodi is designed for conventional notated sheet music across classical, film and TV, game music, popular music, jazz arrangements, musical theatre, and more. Lead sheets, chord charts, and tablature aren’t currently supported.
